I used the cover of the Newsweek magazine as a guide to create the vignette above. I was inspired after weeks of depression following the tragegy of September 11,2001. I was under deadline to submit a few pieces of my work to the IGMA Gallery. I had planned to do something totally different but I was so affected by the devastating and senseless tragic event, that the above vignette resulted as my small contribution towards healing the wounds.
A  BANNER  YET  WAVES
Historians will surely say "This was the week  that America changed. On September 11, 2001...in a matter of hours, the effects of the bombings rippled out to touch virtually everyone in New York city, or for that matter, the world.

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with those who have suffered the devastating loss of a loved one. Collectively, we will all mourn their loss and extend a debt of gratitude to the hundreds of firefighters, police and heroic individuals for their courageous efforts.

May we stand proud together, unified as Americans.  God Bless us all.
