Hi, my name is Pearl Jordan. I have been sculpting miniature figures for about fifteen years. I started in miniatures in 1986 with a purchase of a dollhouse kit for my daughter. It quickly became mine and the endless obsession began. What a delicious obsession it is!!

I started sculpting dolls for my own personal use shortly after I discovered that dollhouse dolls looked like dolls instead of people. I work very hard trying to create realistic scale environments and I want the inhabitants to look REAL. Doing what real people do. I wanted figures with expressions, smiles with teeth showing, realistic body positions, true body types and sizes, long flowing hair or bald with comb-overs. I wanted clothing that looked real...a gentlemen in mens suiting fabrics when appropriate and real leather shoes with laces. All the details that make my "little people" REAL.

That was my goal and I believe I've achieved that and more.

When I began selling my figures, I had another goal...to make wonderful little people and offer them at affordable prices. I believe I've achieved that goal too.

I have been awarded the IGMA Artisan status. My dolls are recognized as outstanding in the Human Figures category!

My work has been featured in many of the miniature publications. I'll list a few of them. Perhaps you have one or two issues and you can take a look. You could see just the perfect little one, that I've created in the past. I've also appeared on a few TV news shows and local newspapers featuring articles about Arts and Crafts trying to promote our hobby.

I have received numerous awards. The major award for me is being blessed with the talent to create and having so many wonderful people love and appreciate what I do. Many of my Portrait dolls are in the private collections of TV celebrities. Some are in the private collections of British royalty. As rewarding as that is, I still enjoy the special feelings I get when I receive letters and pictures from collectors that reveal the love and pleasure that my little ones bring to them! That said...below are a few of my awards for my dolls and roomboxes/vignettes.

SURE SHOT a carnival scene filled with 10 of my little folks having a great time on the fairway. They are playing basketball, shooting at moving ducks, serving up refreshments, etc. This was created for PAMS exhibition. It won FIRST PLACE in category and BEST OF SHOW 1997

SURE SHOT was also exhibited in the CARMEL MUSUEM OF MINIATURE HOUSES 1998-1999

SWING LOW a rural Baptist church filled with 9 of my little folks, singing and preaching and passing the collection plate. First exhibited at PAMS 1996. Won FIRST PLACE in category and BEST OF SHOW 1996

SWING LOW was featured in NUTSHELL NEWS in 1997

SWING LOW won GRAND PRIZE, BEST OF SHOW and FIRST PLACE at the JURIED competition of HOOSIER Dollhouse competition 1997.

SWING LOW was also exhibited in the CARMEL MUSEUM OF MINIATURE HOUSES 1998-1999

MISSISSIPPI MORN a replica of my Grandmother's rural backporch and garden. It features 3 of my little ones. Granny's bent over picking tomatoes from her garden while Maize's eating her fresh baked cherry pie and Beebe's trying to get Granny's attention to tell her. MISS' MORN won FIRST PLACE in category and BEST OF SHOW at PAMS exhibition 1998.

SUDS is a basement scene. Viola has just come down stairs to discover the wringer washer is overflowing. What a mess!

CORNBREAD JR'S CHICKEN SHACK is my version of a smoke-filled juke joint. CORNBREAD won THIRD PLACE in the PAMS exhibition 1998

ALL IN THE FAMILY my replica of the 1970's TV show was created for the contest sponsored by Dollhouse Miniatures Magazine during International Dollhouse Month, October 1997. My humble efforts won FIRST PRIZE.

MARKS MESS is my replica of the Fedex vehicle maintenance area. My best friend Mark was transferring and I thought it would be a nice gift for him. Lots of items made from scratch.

ED'S TREE LOT is an early project. I re-created the corner lots where we bought our Christmas trees. I took the basis for this project from an article by Joann Swanson in Nutshell News.

HONEYBEAR BOUTIQUE Iis a roombox built specifically to showcase y baby items that I lovingly collected.

PEER ON IMPORTS Iis an early project I created before I began making dolls. It holds lots of handcrafted items that I replicated by copying full size items in my home.

HUNTED HOUSE depicts my memories of Halloween in the 1950's.

Many of my dolls have won FIRST PLACE in the ARTS and CRAFTS category of BAF from 1998-2000 competitions.

Many of my dolls are also available for sale at the Puppenhausmuseum in Basel, Switzerland.

Many of my exhibits were featured in the Museum of Miniature Houses in Carmel, Indiana.

Most recently, I was asked to exhibit a collection of my dolls in the International Exhibit of Miniature Dolls June 2001 at the Tee Ridder Miniatures Museum of the Nassau County Museum of Art.
